Ephesus was the capital of Asia during emperor Augustus. The city was very rich and wealthy during that time. Due to the port of the city there was a great trading to other countries. There was a great agora close to the port area where the citizens were selling their products. The other side of agora celsus library was constructed. The city also played very important role of christianity because Saint Paul was spreading christianity to ephesians worshipping to temple of Artemis. Afterwards Saint John and virgin mary settled at the mountain Bulbul mountain upper side of Ephesus.
